Controlling soile types for different herbs???

Some of the herbs I’m going to grow want dry, well-drained soil and others want just well-drained soil and others want moist, damp soil. How can I control this best? Is it just all in the watering or do I need to have them in different pots? I figure the ones wanting the damp, moist soil will be ok in plastic pots. Will the others too??? or do I need to get a clay pot or something for them?

Thanks for your answer!!! Have a wonderful day!!!

I planted a mature 6′ tall butterfly magnolia last fall in my back yard where it’s exposed to the full sun.

The soil is hard solid clay so it doesn’t drain very well. Until now the tree doesn’t produce any flower. The leaves doesn’t look healthy and it doesn’t grow well. What should I do to to help the tree grows better and flowers next year?
Thanks in advance for your tips.

What type of soil and care does a jasmine vine need?

I live in Oregon (zone 8) and have clay soil with some sandy loam mixed in to loosen it up a bit. Do jasmine like moist or dry conditions? Do they need to be pruned? I love the scent of the flowers and would very much like to grow it. Thanks for your help!

What is this plant? Would it be good for lotions etc.? Is it edible?

This plant grows in Georgia. I found it growing in gravel and in the open fields in poor soil-mostly clay and over limestone. I didn’t see any flowers. It is fragrant, smells like an herb: kind of sweet, almost pine like. The leaves are slinder and pointed with a soft fuzzy underside. The roots are thick and kind of like wood, seems to root somewhat shallow. There is a main stalk which branches off and the branches (also fuzzy) are covered in leaves. Looks a lot like a bushy version of fleabane. Leaves hands sticky! Grows to a foot/foot and a half tall, grows in groups and individually.

I have clay soil and have tired everything to grow flowers any suggestions?

I have tried rotatilling it, adding gypsum and top soil but the clay just absorbs it all and breeds rocks.!~!!
