Secret Garden- Song from a Secret Garden

Secret Garden- Song from a Secret Garden

This is the third song from Secret Gardens album Songs From a Secret Garden, from 1995. “The idea of Secret Garden is one that everyone can relate to. We all have landscapes inside us, secret rooms where feelings and impressions grow as a little garden. We have individual ways of finding this garden. Some talk about it, write poems or letters, paint, or even talk a walk to reflect over life. We all have our own way. But what is common to us, is a strong emotional feeling that is an essential part of our nature. My way of dealing with this is through music, and everything I write comes from my secret garden. This simple piece had no other name than Pianopiece in C Minor for many years. But when the Secret Garden project evolved, I felt this piece could express the essence of my ideas- the simple melody strait from the heart, expressed through Fionnualas soulful, vulnerable and naked violin playing.” -Rolf Lovland

White Stones CD – a beautiful, uplifting piece of music, so inspiring.

Squarefoot Gardening – Our Garden Season of 2010

A glimpse inside the world of our humble garden – this covers the 2010 season of our squarefoot garden – we only use organic materials – we compost – and we use a drip irrigation system. Our garden size is 30 x 50 feet but because we squarefoot garden we can produce enough food in the boxes you see for a family of four – that is more then we can eat ourselves so we give a lot of it away:) We don’t pretend to know everything when gardening – we learn every year and make plenty of mistakes but it is so much fun doing it that even the mistakes are fun:) We got addicted to this type of gardening years ago when we first seen the squarefoot gardening show on PBS, and ever since that time we have been gardening that way, we will never go back to row gardening. We hope you enjoy this quick look into our garden, keep an eye out for the garden of 2011 which I have yet to make:)
