Concerning spiritual gifts and herbal healing: Do some people really feel these are evil in and of themselves?

As a Catholic Christian I know that there are many spiritual gifts. Indeed many of our greatest saints were blessed with these. I know of others as well. Also in the Catholic Bible we have scriptures as to the use of herbs for medicine and healers. We do not call these evil. Do some of you?

Ezekial 47:12 And by the torrent on the banks thereof on both sides shall grow all trees that bear fruit: their leaf shall not fall off, and their fruit shall not fail: every month shall they bring forth firstfruits, because the waters thereof shall issue out of the sanctuary: and the fruits thereof shall be for food, and the leaves thereof for medicine

Boxer’s split hoof was a long time in healing. They had started the
rebuilding of the windmill the day after the victory celebrations were
ended. Boxer refused to take even a day off work, and made it a point of
honour not to let it be seen that he was in pain. In the evenings he would
admit privately to Clover that the hoof troubled him a great deal. Clover
treated the hoof with poultices of herbs which she prepared by chewing
them, and both she and Benjamin urged Boxer to work less hard. “A horse’s
lungs do not last for ever,” she said to him. But Boxer would not listen.
He had, he said, only one real ambition left–to see the windmill well
under way before he reached the age for retirement.

At the beginning, when the laws of Animal Farm were first formulated,
the retiring age had been fixed for horses and pigs at twelve, for cows at
fourteen, for dogs at nine, for sheep at seven, and for hens and geese at
five. Liberal old-age pensions had been agreed upon. As yet no animal had
actually retired on pension, but of late the subject had been discussed
more and more. Now that the small field beyond the orchard had been set
aside for barley, it was rumoured that a corner of the large pasture was
to be fenced off and turned into a grazing-ground for superannuated
animals. For a horse, it was said, the pension would be five pounds of
corn a day and, in winter, fifteen pounds of hay, with a carrot or
possibly an apple on public holidays. Boxer’s twelfth birthday was due in
the late summer of the following year.

Spring Healing Herbs?

Does anyone know a list of healing herbs that grow in spring and thier usage?

I live in a dorm with pretty good sunlight what kind of herbs or small plants can i grow in pots?

I’ve never planted anything before and I want to see if it’s something I enjoy. I heard that there are a lot of healing properties with herbs so why not plant them myself? Any suggestions?

Can anyone tell me what herbs (healing) can be grown in pots.?

I want to grow some herbs indoors and there are so many. I’m just having problems finding healing ones that can be grown in pots.
Thanks!

Is there any particular place for me to buy rare herbs and roots/plants in Klang Valley?

Just wondering… back in Thailand, there are some places where I can find plants like Kunyit Hitam and other kinds of rare herbs and plants for medicine and healing. Over here, many of these things are almost unheard of especially in KL (back in Kedah or Kelantan I can only find them growing either wild or being cultivated in monasteries and kampung houses).

Any idea? Some had hinted to me about ‘pasar borong’ in Chow Kit… I’m sorry but I need more information before setting out for my ‘trip’ as I don’t want to go to somewhere I am not familiar with and looking for things that don’t exist in such places in the first place.
Yuna, for example; Kunyit Hitam and those fragrant roots and herbs (since you know what I’m into, and I am running short of supply right now since coming back here to Malaysia). There are many other kinds that I don’t know what they are called in Malay as I am not familiar with local terms.
