What kind of food does one eat with fruit chutney?

My husband received a small basket of goodies from a client who lives in London and amoung the other things is a small jar of “ASNA Extra special Orchard Fruit Chutney”. We thought it might be like fruit preserves, but it’s hot (spicy)! With what other foods shall this food item be eaten?

My son is obsessive, but my husband and mother encourage that behavior. Should I medicate my son? ?

My son is in grade 10, and he seems wound up tightly, stressed, and unhappy. How can I get him to loosen up?

List of projects he is currently working on and making progress in:

Learning 3D animation
Learning HTML
Learning CCS or CSS ( I forget)
Learning German
Making notes for Chemistry and physics. Topics he will learn in two years.
Philatelic Exhibit
Designing a submarine glider thing.
Designing an aquaponics facility.
Building the shed for the aquaponics tank. (Have a large yard)
Running the campaign of a candidate for alderman.
Building the website for said campaign.
Designing the graphics for campaign.
Science fair next year.

He is making considerable headway on each of these, but the cost appears to be high. He sleeps for 3 hours a day on average, spends all his time in his room on his laptop, working on the shed, or using this plotter my father bought for him.

He has no friends, except for a few adults he knows through award ceremonies or the Internet. He has basically killed off his emotions as well. He has no interest in girls, and tries to avoid talking to girls whenever possible.

I personally feel that his health is threatened. I once found him collapsed on his desk from fatigue. However, my husband said that is not a major issue. He and my father procured all the equipment and materials to make all his projects possible and are genuinely happy with my sons projects and they keep on buying the materials to help him do more. They want him to work on renewable energy next, for the aquaculture tank.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this? A lot of you said previously to leave him alone to succeed. Problem is, he is very close to complete burnout.

He is also a good actor. Very polite in public, but cold privately, and you can tell he is fighting with his emotions.
My questions:
How can I get him to stop and smell the roses?
Why does he dislike talking to girls/women?
Is 3 hours of sleep enough?
Any other thoughts/comments?

Does anyone know of herbal remedy for throwing up everytime I eat?

I am a 37 year old female who has had a complete hysterectomy. I do not take hormones or any other medications. I do have a bit of stress, my husband has a traumatic brain injury and I have 2 children ages 5 and 7. My husband is worse than the children, he demands more of my attention and gets sullen if I don’t give it to him, he throws fits and objects when he feels things aren’t going his way. He has never physically abused any of us but is very stressful for me to live with at times. Recently I have started throwing up everytime I eat something. Yesterday my right shoulder was hurting so bad I could not pick up anything and when I went to pull up my bathing suit bottom it felt like my shoulder was being ripped. Then today it hurt when I woke up and became progressively worse. Then I ate lunch and within 2 bites was running to the door to throw up and the weird thing was, after I threw up, my shoulder guit hurting. At dinner I threw up again after a few bites. When usually it has been 1 or 2 times a week, it is now becoming every meal. I know it is stress….though the shoulder is a new sympton….but since I have to be with my husband, I have no insurance and cannot afford a Dr. Or the medicine he would prescribe. My Stm John’s wort is now blooming so I am making tea from fresh blooms 1/4 herb to one cup water 2x’s/ day. I was wondering if you recommended any other herbs with it. I have quite a few I grow myself.
Forgot to mention the herbs I have: Spearmint, peppermint, chocolate mint, pineapple mint, lemon balm, sage, white sage, passion flowers. basil, thyme, rosemary, chamomille, purple cone flowers – echinacea, catnip, st. John’s wort and I live in the woods of Alabama so have many variety of trees and wild herbs. Thank you for any help. Traci
Thank you Cedar, I forgot all about ginger! My main issue is that I feel absolutely fine, other than my shoulder….which I did not know was a sympton of reflux…until the first few bites, so I will try drinking some ginger tea a bit before I eat to see if that helps, I have a few nice roots that I got at the farmers market. I will also get some of my mints and perhaps lavendar and make a nice foot bath. No free clinic, I am 1/2 mile from the county that does have one and you have to live in that county but I know you can buy prilosec over the counter so that would save the Dr. expense, I think I can get it at Sam’s club in bulk. Thank you once again!

Its finally established and is having its first BIG flower right now…Its growing over and around a fence that my husband has now decided to tear down to make way for a driveway!….So being that it is winding through the fence it will need to be cut way back mercilessly and the moved….Will it survive?…Should I bother?…Its soooo pretty!….Sigh….

Should you have to call your in-laws “Mom” and “Dad”?

My husband and I have been married 7 years and his mother and step-father have hinted around about why I don’t call them Mom and Dad. They are not the nicest people in the world sometimes. Especially my Father in law. He is not a kid person, yet he married a lady who had 6 grown children and oodles of grandkids. When the kids come over he tells them to stay off his grass and don’t touch the flowers. Don’t sit on the “good” couch because that’s for company and don’t walk on the “good” carpet. Then my mother-in-law backs him up! Children are expected to be seen and not heard in their house and I don’t feel comfortable there for more than one hour, because I have a 2 & a 5 year old. It would feel very weird for me to call them Mom and Dad. Thankfully we don’t live very close to them. We used to live a mile away and they never came to our house in 3 years time. Then we moved.

How much would it cost to start a homestead?

My husband and I have been dreaming of having some land of our own where we could grow our own food, raise a few chickens, rabbits, a couple goats, maybe a horse or 2. We have been looking at land up in northern Ontario. I have also checked out some prices in the atlantic provinces.

To set some ground as to WHAT we want …

- Particularly if we are managing things mostly on our own, we do not want make it more than we can work on our own

- Land that is at least partially forest, we are both nature lovers and want to put as little impact on
the land as we can manage

- Some goats (milk largely, though will thin herd for meat possibly as well)
- Chickens (not sure on how many is a good number for a small family)
- Rabbits (meat primarily)
- Garden space for vegetables, herbs and maybe even a small orchard for fruit
- Horses (likely 2 or 3 at most)
- We want to build our own home incorporating as much green tech as we can manage. Solar and wind electricity, compost or marsh type septic, a hobbit hole or earth-ship design is what we had had in mind
