Would a small Hydroponic Vegetable/Fruit garden be profitable?

My mom is struggling cash wise, but she has a large extra bedroom built onto the back of her house. I have recently learned hydroponic gardening.

I think gardening would not only be relaxing for her to do, but might also help bring in a little income if she can produce fresh YEAR ROUND tomatoes, strawberries and grapes (or whatever fruit or veggie) to local neighborhoods.

Do you think this would be a good idea?

How much could she reasonably expect to make from this? I know hydroponic gardens grow fast.

This is my second try at growing hydro tomato’s…i am using a water farm made by general hydroponic and the other bucket is a bubbleponic that i made…the plants look good sofar….i will do a update every 30 days.

ok im working on an all DIY and hand made experimental water culture system and im almost done with it except the lights and lighting related material and issues… now i know what i need if i was to purchase a final product from stores but i just needed to know if its possible (of course not with too much risk or problems, plz explain if u know of any) to use a mogul based grow light with a medium base converter directly without using a ballast or do i HAVE to use a ballast?

I hope i made myself clear enough but let me know and i’ll add more details or clarify exactly what im taking about! Thx

Hydroponic Bell Pepper Update December 6th 2009

This is an update for the bell peppers I planted on July 9th, 2009 I failed to fill the reservoir due to being busy and the leaves are wilting. In this video I show the PH level and show EC meter readings as well as a little harvest. Hopefully they will perk up over the next few weeks. Filmed with a Canon Vixia HF20 HD (new toy).
