Are you hungry?

Yes.

Why not try my package of Dirty Toes?

Your package of what?

Dirty Toes.

How is that spelled?

T-H-A-T.

No, I meant the Dirty Toes.

I think it’s spelled D-O-R-I-T-O-S.
Do you want one?

No thanks. I’m not hungry now.

At a wedding, the groom lifted the veal of the bride’s face and kissed her.

Rain makes old cars lust. Once they start, there’s no way to make them stop lusting.

I hear California is full of nude peaches.

Other random stuff:

The police were assaulted by angry mops.

The cheerleaders threw up high into the air!

I never liked mushrooms, but now they are starting to grow in me!

Do you like your food? I made it from scratching
I hope these made your day. They made mine. :)

What’s the best kind of soil for growing culinary herbs in containers?

I have mine in Miracle Grow Organic Compost, but they don’t seem to be flourishing. They are puny and VERY easily overwatered even though the containers provide drainage. I also tried growing lettuce in the same kind of soil. The seedlings sprouted, but then stopped growing all together soon afterwards. The herbs and the lettuce are getting plenty of direct sunlight, so I know that’s not the issue. What do you think?

Can I make a compost on my patio?

I live in an apartment and I’ve begun growing plants on my screened in patio. So far, I have a tomato and lettuce plant. The rest are flowers and herbs. I’d like to make a compost, but I have limited space. Is it possible? Also, my nightblooming Jasmine plant has danced with the cool air, so she’s lost her leaves. Can I revive her?

Can I grow herbs and some vegetables other than tomatoes in grow bags?

I was thinking of peas, beans, lettuce, and some herbs. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has successfully done this.

How can I make a raised bed garden cheaply without wood working experience?

I would like to make a raised bed garden for my vegetables this year. The area I have to work with is 14′x6′ and I’d like to make a couple of boxes (both squares and rectangular) to go into that area. I plan to grow lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and a couple misc. vegetables. I would like to do this in the most cost effective way because I’m just a cheap person, but I’d also like it to look nice. I would love the beds to be made of wood, but the lumber isle of the hardware store is scary. Let alone trying to get the lumber home and heaven forbid I have to cut the wood. I think you get the idea. I see a lot of nice kits online, but once again I’m just too cheap to buy them when I think I can make something nice myself. Any ideas?

I want to start a container garden, I live in upstate NY (near Utica) when and what should i grow?

I was thinking like cherry or grape tomatos, pepers, lettuce, carrots, sunflowers, cukecumbers, summer/ winter squashes, and some herbs but what would grow best in this area? and when do I start the seeds?, and how big of containers do I need for each type of plant? thanks for any help.

Organic and/or specialty foods sought by gourmet restaurants?

I’m thinking of starting a side business on some land I own. I was thinking about growing organic or specialty type foods there, for sale to gourmet restaurants. I’m looking for suggestions or ideas of what might be good. Things I was thinking of are herbs like basil, rosemary, etc. Possibly greens such as Romaine lettuce or escarole or things like that. Everything grown there would be done so organically.

I am also considering the possibility of making specialty cheeses or raising small livestock, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, etc.

The climate is temperate year round and is located within 1 hour of a city of 7 million people, so access to a suitable market is readily available.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If everyone grew at least a few veges in their garden, would it make a difference to the environment?

I grow all of my own herbs and leafy green (spinach, lettuce, bok choi, rocket, silverbeet) – i find them easy to grow, easy to pick what I need, and that store bought greens don’t last long in the fridge.
Apart from the convenience to me – does this help the environment?
My back yard is inner city – measures 5m x 5m.

A poem: Have any of you had any of that good hippie lettuce lately? Care to comment?

I was down in my room
And all I could smell was
This potent skunk perfume

The smell drew me upstairs
It was a big green skunk
With orange and purple hairs

It must have came from outer space
My roommate waved a plastic bag
Of the star dust covered leaf
right in my face
And then he pulled out
A big glass blown tube
That looked like a vase

I sparked the crystal lattice
The white tornado spinning into my lungs
It had a pleasantly nice taste
A mix of grape and pineapple paste

Then we puffed this stuff
That looked liked a white berry
It had me floating in the clouds
Like some sort of magical ferry

Exhale to find your thoughts
drifting on plumes of smoke
A shrubs green leaf
saturated in snow flakes
Give me one more toke

My body felt like a candle
On its way to relax
Melting into a pile
Of hot fluid wax

Even the most dull things
Looked vibrantly zooted
I was worried my mind waves
Would stay convoluted

But my roommate told me
This is naturally organic
Your mind paints lucid paintings
No need to panic

Heck! Did you even know the first US flag
Was threaded from its fabrics
And its roots helped suck up toxins
In Chernobyl
The plants got some darn good tricks

Even GW was an advocate:
“Make the most of the Indian hemp seed
And sow it everywhere”
But our leaders don’t like the environment
And say its buds would cause great despair

Financing or partnership in greenhouse and hydroponic lettuce operation?

I am looking for a lending institution who would finance me adding a hydroponic lettuce greenhouse on my farm. Our credit is ok but not awesome, average score of 680. We have 3 years experience in hydroponics. We have 25% of project amount for the system. We have been to the SBA and they approved our business plan for SBA support but had no lending options. 85k in farm equity and are looking for 75-85k in loan. What options do we have or interest is there?
