Best southeast Michigan cider mill or farm for little kids?
My son is turning 5, and we wanted to take him out to a fun cider mill/apple orchard/farm for his birthday. We have visited Blake’s cider mill in the past (in Armada) but have recently moved downriver and are now looking for something similar down here. Any suggestions? I’m looking for something that has fun activities for kids… maybe hayrides, corn mazes, petting farms….

What goes good with Apple Cider? Please read, I am making a stand?
Hi! My best friend’s aunt has an apple orchard, and we pick apples and make homemade cider… today we are going to set up a stand and sell some apple cider. We were just wondering what you think goes good with the cider if we are going to sell something else with it. By the way it isn’t hot outside. If you think the apple cider just plain is better, that’s fine too. Also, what do you think we should charge? Thanks for the help!

Anyone used Stevia in place of sugar in baking?
I’m curious as to how things like apple pie bake up using Stevia in place of sugar. (I picked 30lbs of apples yesterday at an orchard)
does this sound like a fun outing?
my bf and I are planning on taking my 3 daughters (ages 10,8,and 7) to an apple orchard 3 hours away from us to pick apples in october.
we will leave on a friday and drive to a nearby campground to camp overnight friday. on the way there, we plan on making a pit stop to let the girls pick bags of pinecones to use on the christmas tree this year. while camping, we’ll bbq dinner,make smores, have hot chocolate,tell stories,etc.
saturday am we’ll get up early to have an “all you can eat” pancake breakfast at the orchard. then we’ll pick apples and have a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick a few pumpkins for halloween. we’ll go back to the car for a packed lunch and have kettle corn for snack before leaving.
we will head home directly from the orchard.
so what do you think?!!

feel guilty about this or not?!!?
Every year my bf and I take a 3 hour drive to an apple orchard in october to pick apples and pumpkins for halloween-we stay overnight at a local campground the night we arrive then head over to the orchard the next morning. this will be our 3rd year doing so.
it’s a big tradition for us-we campout in a tent, make smores, tell stories, and have a big breakfast at the orchard the next morning. this year, we are even stopping to let the girls pick a couple bags of pinecones to use on the christmas tree this year.
my bf works night shift (and has to work every sunday) and due to this, the best time for us to take the trip this year would be to leave on a friday afternoon-stay the night in the campground and then go to the orchard on saturday. In order to do this, I’ll have to take my 3 girls out of school about 3 hours early on that friday. 2 of them are in 2nd grade and my oldest is in 5th grade.
Fridays are usually low key (2nd graders homework is always due the day before) and we’ll have sunday to complete any schoolwork due for the following monday
should I feel guilty about pulling them out of school a little early that day? this has become a family tradition and I know the girls would be upset if we missed it….
and please no RUDE or immature answers-it just wastes my time. thanks
