Topsy Turvy, Garden Containers, Upside Down Pots, Growing Tomatoes, Peppers & Herbs Update 7

Here’s my weekly video. Things are going well. I cut the pumpkin out of its pot and planted it in the ground. It was root bound….not enough space for the roots to grow. I plan to treat the spaghetti squash similarly….afraid of tearing up the plant if I remove the entire pot, so I’ll cut out the bottom 1/2 of the pot, dig a hole, till up the soil and plunk it in to give the roots room to grow. Thanks for lookin’ and if you have any advice, please leave me a post. I’m always eager to learn.

starting a vegetable and herb business?

Me and my friend just this year started growing peppers, tomatoes, mint, and about 6 different types of herbs, and we want to start a business, but we are not sure if we have enough, we might start it next year when we get more out of them, but will people in our neighborhood buy stuff like that? it would be like 75 cents for a tomato, and do you think its reasonable? can you give me some tips? thanks!

How long do hydroponic plants produce fruit?

I’m reading up on hydroponic growing techniques (specifically tomatoes) and was just wondering how long they produce fruit (or veggies)? Does anyone out there have any idea?

Thank you!

why do my tomato’s look like that?

i started a small hydroponic system in my greenhouse with an 18 gal tub following a youtube video the system has 12 net pots with half tomatoes (early girl) and half with strawberry’s. the strawberry’s are loving the system but the lower leaves on some of the tomatoes are turning a lite yellow with a pale purple tint what’s wrong with them? Could i have over done the nutrients? Or is it just some disease that followed the plants from the store?

Does tomato wilt affect other plants? Can you eat the fruit off the tomatoes plants?

We have huge plants, in a small garden space. My tomatoes are showing signs of wilt, but perk up after rain. I noticed my cucumbers and some of my yellow squash and zucchini are not growing after they form and begin to rot. Can I save my plants? My herbs in the same small bed are doing great. What can I do to prevent this from returning next year. (already know about purchasing resistant tomatoe plants, but what else??)

I am a gardening novice and moving to a house with patio – what fruit/veg can I grow in pots?

I would like to start growing some fruit/veg but am a complete novice and will only have a small patio and/or window boxes. I would love some advice about what plants I can grow in pots (esp things I can start with now but also things I can plant next year). I would like to try chillis, tomatoes, strawberries, herbs, salad leaves and any veg that will grow in a pot. I guess its late in the season to start now but hopefully there are things I can try now? I also want to have a few plants in pots that will be green for as much of the year as possible to brighten up the concrete patio. Again I would appreciate any advice.

Growing a Backyard Veggie/Fruit garden. Relatively simpler than people think??

When I ask someone what they think of my garden in the making they usually come up with reasons why its not going to work like “Oh,corn isn’t supposed to grow until this month or that month” and watermellons shouldnt be in a mound of dirt it should be in a mound of Miracle Grow Fertalizer Mixed with Sand yatta yatta yatta. Do all these small things really matter??If I start growing veggies and fruits when summer starts put the seeds in rows of native soil ( that has been churned up with a land tiller w/ weeds and rocks taken out) and water them well they should grow fine right? I’m sure if I followed every tip and hint that people take so seriously I would be overwhelmed and Sun Dirt and Water with alotta TLC i should be fine right? P.s I am growing assorted things : Corn, tomatoes, peppers,Onions, cabbage, squash, watermellons,Pumpkins, beans and a couple herbs.. ona area of 60 x 25 ft Lemme know if you think I can pull it off with simplicity..or am I doomed to have shabby results Thanx Z.
